Puri Saren Agung

The central palace where public dance performances are held. Located at the northeast corner of the central crossroads. Once the home of the last king of Ubud, it is now home to his descendants. Regarded as the "father palace" of Ubud, it was also Ubud's first hotel, opening to paying guests in the 1930s. Parts of its gardens and bales feature grand Prada (gold leaf) carved woodwork.

Puri Saren Kangin

The eastern portion of Puri Saren (kangin = east), now a private residence for several branches of the Ubud royal family. Puri's Bar in front was a popular hangout for Balinese and bohemians in the early 1980s.

Pura Saren Kauh

The western portion of the palace (kauh = west). Accommodations within this section are accessed via the reception desk of Puri Saren Agung.

Puri Kantor

Across Jalan Suweta from Puri Saren. Features a forecourt now used as parking for the family's vintage autos, a couple of cafes, and Banyan Tree Bungalows. The name kantor (office) was given in jest, referencing a multi-storey pagoda that once stood here and reminded locals of an office building.

Puri Kawan

A private residence behind Ary's Warung. Kawan (sometimes kauhan) means "western," reflecting its position west of the town centre. Formerly offered public accommodation.

Puri Saraswati

Located across from Tino's drugstore on Jalan Raya. Home to a branch of the Ubud royal family, it also operates a bungalow hotel with a pool, Cafe Lotus, Lotus Studios, Mumbul's Restaurant, and a large lotus pond with a temple dedicated to Dewi Saraswati — goddess of learning, arts, and literature.
